Koydo Junior is the ages 5–8 home in Koydo. It is parent-gated, ad-free, and designed for emerging readers — large buttons, read-aloud assist on every screen, and a gentle progression from shapes and counting into phonics, simple math, and short science and story moments. There are no leaderboards, no chat, and no external links. Voice clips used in pronunciation exercises are processed in real time and immediately discarded — no biometric template is stored. A short parent-verification step opens every session, keeping the experience supervised without forcing parents to sit through it. Sessions end with a small celebration rather than open-ended scrolling, and children progress along their own pace rather than against other learners.

Parent questions about Junior

- Does my 5-year-old need to read to use Junior?
- No. Every screen has read-aloud support, picture cues, and large touch targets. Children begin with shapes, colors, and counting — phonics and early reading grow in alongside.
- How long should a Junior session be?
- We recommend 10 to 20 minutes per session for this age range. Junior does not push extended screen time; sessions end with a clear celebration moment rather than an open-ended scroll.
- Are there leaderboards or rankings?
- No. Koydo's design canon prohibits leaderboards for the under-8 surface. Progress is shown to the child as personal growth — never as a comparison with other learners.
- Can siblings share one account?
- Each child should have their own profile under the same parent account. That keeps progress, reading level, and rewards accurate for each child.
- How is my child's data handled?
- Koydo follows COPPA and the UK Children's Code. We collect the minimum needed to run lessons, never sell or share data for advertising, and never store voice recordings from pronunciation exercises — those are processed and immediately discarded.
When your Junior is ready
Most learners stay in Junior until they are reading short passages comfortably. From there, Koydo Kids (ages 8–11) opens up subject paths, independent reading, and lightweight goal-setting. Same Koydo account, same parent view — just more capability as your child grows.
